The Promise of Spring (2021)

Over the past year we have all slowed down and developed a greater appreciation of the importance of our gardens and outdoor spaces for our health and wellbeing. In this vibrant exhibition Lichfield artist Emma Cooper (Primrose Cottage Art) explores the tiny changes that signal the arrival of spring. The resulting paintings are a celebration of nature, colour, hope and resilience.

“The promise of springs arrival is enough to get anyone through the bitter winter” Jen Selinsky

And the sky above seemed to have fallen down to the earth floor; and I didn’t know if the sky was the earth or the earth was the water. I had been turned upside down.”

Graham Joyce
