Primrose Cottage Art is the studio of Emma Cooper, a mixed media artist based in Lichfield in the West Midlands. From small works on paper to large canvases, Emma’s colourful artworks demonstrate a strong connection to nature and deep curiosity to look and explore the tiny details in the world around her.

” Hello, I’m Emma. As long as I can remember I have loved to draw, paint and make things; I simply can’t remember a time when art wasn’t a part of my life. I fit in time for my art around caring for my two young children who are both enthusiastic artists themselves and love to get involved.

After studying Illustration at the University of the West of England, I worked in Arts Management for 10 years, where I was lucky to be involved with many inspiring community and arts education projects as well as experiencing some truly wonderful exhibitions and performances. This instilled in me a strong belief that everyone can make and enjoy art, and that creativity is a force for good that can bring people together and promote wellness.

I grew up in rural Wiltshire and have a strong connection to nature and the seasons which has become a theme in my art. In my spare time you will usually find me outside in my garden or allotment where I love to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables.”
